Energy Work

"Energy work is used to help balance the systems of energy throughout the body to alleviate stress, ailments, and disease," explains Gamarra. "There are different approaches through different traditions. Essentially, when one feels unbalanced either physically, emotionally, or mentally, energy work aids to restore and realign the body's subtle vibrations." While Reiki is one of the main ways to practice energy work, there are many ways to integrate energy work and healing into one’s life.

reiki

Reiki is the art of hand healing originated in Japan by Mikao Usui in 1922.  The original term for this is Shin Shin Usui Reiki Ryoho or “using Reiki therapy for improving body and mind”.  Reiki is an energy healing or natural process carried out by placing hands on the body.  By doing so a Reiki practitioner receives Reiki energy from the universe and transmits the energy onto the receiver.  This awakens the natural healing abilities of the recipient.  Reiki can be used for both physical and psychological health.

Jin Shin Jyutsu

Jin shin jyutsu

JIN SHIN JYUTSU is the Art of releasing tensions which are the causes for various symptoms in the body. Our bodies contain several energy pathways that feed life into all of our cells. When one or more of these paths become blocked, this damming effect may lead to discomfort or even pain. This blockage or stagnation will not only disrupt the local area but will continue and eventually disharmonize the complete path or paths of the energy flow. Through Jin Shin Jyutsu our awareness is awakened to the simple fact that we are endowed with the ability to harmonize and balance ourselves (in rhythm with the universe) physically, mentally and spiritually.

Crystal Therapy

crystal therapy

Crystal Healing is an ancient healing modality that helps with healing clients through the precise placing of crystals on the body and the surrounding room in a grid like pattern. Crystal Healing dates back thousands of years. It is based on the premise that crystals can penetrate through their electromagnetic field to communicate and connect with the energies flowing throw your body. It is a non-invasive, relaxing, natural and enjoyable modality.

Marma

Marma

These ‘points’ are referred to in Chinese Medicine as Acupuncture or Acupressure points, and in Ayurveda and yogic healing as Marma points. This isn’t to say that the two systems discount each other – many books on marma points also speak of meridians and many books on acupuncture mention chakras. According to both Ayurveda and Chinese Medicine, energy (prana or chi) can stagnate in these points. Both systems have healing practices focused on freeing this energy, whether through acupuncture or acupressure, Ayurvedic massage or even visualization.

  • Provide relief from stress and anxiety and bring about deep relaxation

What is it good for?

  • Physical pain– Jin Shin Jyutsu can be effective in reducing physical pain whether acute or chronic.

  • Emotional pain – Whether brought about by unexpected events or over the long term, Jin Shin Jyutsu can offer relief from difficult emotional states.

  • Existing health conditions – As part of an integrated approach to health Jin Shin Jyutsu complements traditional healthcare practices.

Jin Shin Jyutsu: Private Sessions

If you’re going through a lot of change right now or dealing with a tough situation, either physical or emotional, you may crave some personal attention.  Climb on the massage table and experience the benefits of this ancient healing art.

What is a private session like?

A Jin Shin Jyutsu session is an hour long. The client lies on their back on a massage table, fully clothed. The practitioner first “listens” to the pulses in the wrists to determine where energy may be blocked.

The practitioner then gently places their hands on the body, following specific sequences.

The practice utilizes unique and detailed diagrams of the major energy channels within the body and twenty-six sets of key locations used to restore harmony and balance.

The session does not involve massage, manipulation of muscles, insertion of needles or the use of any drugs or substances.

Jin Shin Jyutsu: Self Help Classes

Jin Shin Jyutsu also offers simple, effective ways that anyone can learn to help heal themselves or those they care about.  Check out these upcoming classes and workshops that will teach you techniques you can use to feel better physically and emotionally.

 Crystal Therapy

Your physical body contain crystalline particles and a range of of minerals that are uniquely related to Earth. Your body is made up of 70% water and water has a crystalline structure, think about snowflakes.

I offer 7 different techniques all are 45/60 minute sessions for $70/$80 and distant sessions are $60/$70. All can be done remotely or in person.

The sessions that can be booked at least once a day are below

*Energy Unblocker

Clears away awareness and releases blocked energy. It is helpful when you’re felling unsettled for no apparent reason. With the release of stress, sensations may seem to increase before they subside.

*Body and Mind Balancer

This healing modality provides a good every day balancer and restores a natural flow of energy.

*Chakra Balancer

This procedure can be used to recharge and balance the bodies energy centers or the chakras.

*Stress Buster

This healing will help with any experience that affects us on emotional level and is held within the body, stress is particularly bad for this. The stress hormone, cortisol, is public health enemy number one. Scientist have known for years that elevated cortisol levels; interfere with learning and memory, lower immune function and bone density, increase weight gain, blood pressure, cortisol, and heart disease.

*Spirit Lifter

This crystal healing can be used to give you a “feel good factor” boost, especially if you have been feeling a bit down.

*Reconnector

If you are feeling disconnected from the world around you and or your spiritual self this will help you re-engage that connection.

The following can only be scheduled 1-2 times a week due to their power and full body clearing.

*Seal of Solomon

This healing works on activating the energy field around the body. It is a vibrational field around the body that used to spin but for many clients lies dormant, it has the power, once activated, to protect the physical body, raise the psyche, and much much more!

*Infinity

This Crystal Healing revives sluggish energies when we feel agitated, it can be localized to any area of the body that needs supporting to come back into health.

Marma

For centuries, practitioners have been mapping the human body and linking various limbs, organs, immune responses and even emotions to specific energy points.

Marma points are energy points in the body used for healing in Ayurveda. They can be compared to acupuncture points in Chinese Medicine.

Literally translated, marma means ‘a point that can kill’, and indeed some of the marma points have been identified and used in martial arts, however in marma point massage, these points are only used for healing purposes! They’re also identified as neurolymphatic points, stimulating the removal of lymph and enhancing the efficiency of the body’s organs.

The focus of marma point massage is primarily to manipulate subtle energy or prana, but physically they’re also very effective for relieving stiff muscles and boosting circulation. Marma therapy is used extensively throughout Ayurveda, and is considered important in self-care and self-healing practices. Just as many of us are (re)discovering through yoga, the key to greater health and happiness doesn’t necessarily lie outside of us, but instead is quite literally at our fingertips.

There are said to be 107 marma points on the body, each serving a particular purpose, and each with its own name and specific way of massaging it. Different oils are used depending upon each person’s Ayurvedic dosha type.

Marma points are measured in anguli or ‘finger units’. For instance; the marma point Hridaya (meaning ‘heart’) is found at the sternum, and measures four anguli in size. It is best massaged in a broad and gentle way with the palm of the hand with sesame oil in order to calm the energy of the heart. Mustard oil can be used to enhance circulation, and acupressure at this point can help relieve stress and negative emotions. Try it for yourself – even just placing your hand here can have a calming effect.
